are british men as unfriendly as their reputation says they are?
i'm going to England to study abroad next fall and I was ondering if anyone has visited there or lived there and could tell me what the people are like? especially the men, i've heard they're very stiff and not talkative!
Don't confuse stereotypes or generalisations with facts.
If a man (or woman) is 'stiff and not talkative' that's part of their personality or down to how they're feeling that day - not because they're English, French, Chinese or anything else.
It's a myth that all English people are quiet, formal and reserved. You'll learn that within ten minutes of being here.
In the big cities, you'll find most men are outgoing, confident types with a lot to say for themselves. Sometimes, like with any other country in the world, they're a little shy.
